Regarding the possibility of moving ContentDM to hosted: additional questions: how many other institutions of similar size are hosted? What has their experience been like?
GRE has their new computer.
Also got Soundforge for MAC for audio Digi in house
ContentDM: slowness issues were caused by one php file missing. They replaced it and everything is fine now. Linux migration status is uncertain due to the talk about migrating to hosted.
Film archive (KHOU) metadata was done by volunteer and submitted by Emily. Cataloging will get it up soon. Roland will speak with Jeanette about a procedure (which is changing due to the move to HTML5), Jeanette will document it.
ContentDM user group meeting next week in South Carolina - Roland is going.
Film/OH - starting with new procedure that allows for definition of cue points in the HTML. (Calculate it in seconds) So for example, cue point at 7 min 19 sec = 439 seconds - just paste this in the HTML:
<p><a href=”#nogo” onclick=”jwplayer(myElement).seek(439)”><img border=”0” alt=”cue point” align=”absmiddle” src=”media/watch2.gif” width=”21” height=”25” /></a></p>
We shouldn’t need the clip since the volunteer is determining cue points. (Cataloging only needs text and HTML.)
BitCurator presentation on May 23 - Jeanette will go. Someone from HMRC? Roland?
2nd Annual City Hackathon is May 31. Ideas? App for HADA? App for tours of JIB/GRE? (Caroline was working on something with Scrollkit, but that seems discontinued. Friends of TXR is paying for this, never mind.) Does BookMyne have a ContentDM module (prohibitively expensive).
Roland will write up a procedure for converting OH/Film to HTML5 and Cataloging support staff will assist with conversion.
We need a meeting about Digi stats.
HMRC is getting a new contract worker who will inventory and possibly digitize circus posters.
Joel re-shot the Wood map, very good detail.
New featured collection for this month - maybe parks.
Roland is working on updating the Curriculum project page. The form will take a little more time. Colors are done, Roland will do an interim update.
